Just finished a meal of cold spicy noodles, beef with Chiles and tiger beer. I'm sweating profusely, can barely feel my tongue and the staff is giving me a laugh. Perfect, well done would totally recommend, can't get this in NYC. Not fancy dining, sitting at sidewalk table with folding chairs.

Their spicy frog leg hotpot is the BOMB! The miniature work was nicely decorated with big chunks of chili and onion cloves but don't be frightened. The taste isn't as spicy as it looks. Small cube-sized frog legs were stir fried to perfection, as compared to some places which often over-cooked it. On the other hand, the harmless looking crab roe tang hoon was so spicy that it makes you sweat like mad. There was no trace of red chili chunks nor chili oil but there were hidden chili padi bits that makes your tongue go on fire.

Oh how I wish I would have only ordered their popular dishes (beef brisket with cilantro, stir-fry string beans with olives & spicy black fungus) and not have tried the fish with pepper soaked in chili oil. The stir-fry string beans with olive is the highlight of our dinner (it has amazing aroma and taste!), they are cooked perfectly and were served with sautéed olive drenched in olive oil that just made you come back for more. The black fungus is also good, very famous cold dish from hunan just tad greasy. The only not so successful dish for me is the steamed sliced fish soaked in tasteless chili oil and topped with enormous pepper. They don't offer too many choices but most main dishes are pork, beef and chicken. Might be back to try more of their meaty dishes next time! Price wise, it's pretty pricey only for the fish that I ordered, especially since it's a dory fish. No wonder they refused to acknowledge customer about it! Pricing in general is decent. Perfect family restaurant. Casual and relaxing. The staff is friendly and will gladly explain anything on the menu if you don't understand or need further explanation. The inside of the restaurant is simple but very 'Chinese' but the food says all you need to know and will keep you coming back.
